Jessica Simpson Puts Down Rumors That Tony Romo Contacts Ex Carrie Underwood

Jessica Simpson insists her beau Tony Romo isn't calling his ex Carrie Underwood. "I looked at his call log," she said Wednesday in an interview with a Nashville radio station.

Of Tony, Carrie tells September's Allure: "The phone will ring and it'll be him, and I'll maybe not answer." "Tony and I both laughed at that," Jessica said. "We got a chuckle out of it."

Jessica and Tony seem to be going strong. "Most of the guys I dated were captivated by my heart but they had different ways of trying to get to me," Jess says in September's Elle.

"Tony understands me. He appreciates my talent," she says. "He's the first person I've spiritually connected with.” Tony has been supporting Jessica while she works on her country album, Do You Know, due September 9. "It's the cutest thing," she says.

Jessica Simpson Gets Crap About A T-Shirt

Recently, Jessica Simpson has been spotted sporting a t-shirt emblazoned with the slogan, "Real Girls Eat Meat" across her chest. And while this could just be an expression of the singer's love for steak, Jessica family insiders tell OK! it's actually a subtle dig at boyfriend Tony Romo's ex-girlfriend, country superstar Carrie Underwood — who not only shuns meat but who has twice been named World's Sexiest Vegetarian by animal rights group Peta.

"Jess is sick of hearing about how Tony still has feelings for Carrie," says the insider. "She's obviously trying to poke fun at her rival and let her know who really has Tony's heart." While Carrie hasn't said anything about Jessica's carnivorous tee, the folks at Peta released the following statement to OK!:

"Jessica Simpson's meaty wardrobe malfunction makes us thankful that no one is looking to her for food advice. Chicken-of-the-Sea anyone? The woman who thought that Buffalo 'Wings' came from buffalos would benefit from some good veggie brain food."

Carrie's belief in vegetarianism is so strong, she once said, "If you told me I could never sing again, I'd say that was horrible, but it's not my life. If you told me I could never be around animals again, I would just die."
