Two months after her split from producer-songwriter husband, Robert "Mutt" Lange, Shania Twain has found strength in the two things that mean the most to her – her 6-year-old son, Eja D'Angelo, and her music. "She's spending as much time with Eja as possible and hasn't put down her guitar since the split," a source close to singer tells PEOPLE. "The songs are pouring out of her."
No doubt some of them – like many great country songs – are inspired by heartache. Shania, 42, announced her separation from Mutt, 59, in May, after she found out about his alleged affair with one of her best friends.
Twain is also keeping busy shopping and traveling. The now-single singer was recently spotted buying lingerie at a Holt Renfrew store in her native Canada. She's also been to the Caribbean, where she has a villa, and to Switzerland, where she and Mutt once lived together. Last weekend, Canadian fans were surprised to see their homegrown talent whiz through the Toronto airport wearing dark shades, but also sporting a big smile.

Shania Twain is opening up to fans for the first time about her "broken heart" after splitting from her husband, Robert "Mutt" Lange, last year after 14 years of marriage.
"As I am sure you have seen or heard; I am going through a rough time personally in my life," the country star writes in a message to fans posted on her Web site Thursday. "I wanted you all to know that I could not be getting through this without you. Your letters, emails and words of encouragement give me strength. Your overwhelming support reminds me to smile, no matter how deep the pain and to always be grateful for all the beautiful blessings in my life."
Shania, 42, and Mutt, 59, who have a 6-year-old son, announced their separation last month. Sources tell PEOPLE that Mutt's relationship with another women, Shania's close friend Marie-Anne Thiébaud, was the reason behind the split.
"I have so much to say but I know the best way for me to speak is through my music," continues Twain. "This is my therapy, my passion, and my love. I look forward to sharing it with all of you as I begin this new journey. I need some time to heal this broken heart but make no mistake; I will be back and hopefully stronger than ever. Thank you my friends, from the bottom of my heart."

Shania Twain is in good spirits as she visits with family Friday in Muskoka, Ontario, Canada. The singer, whose separation from husband Robert "Mutt" Lange was announced on May 15, was reportedly "devastated" by the split and rumored affair that caused it.
Shania Twain's close friend and longtime assistant is finally speaking out – and denying reports she's behind the singer's surprise split from her husband of 14 years, PEOPLE reports in its new issue. Speaking publicly for the first time since the news of the alleged affair became public, Marie-Anne Thiébaud, 37, told PEOPLE, "You cannot believe everything you read in the press." When asked directly if she had an affair with Shania's husband, music producer Robert "Mutt" Lange, she replied, "No."
That contradicts several sources close to the situation, who say Thiébaud and Mutt left their spouses for each other and continue to maintain a romantic relationship. Shania, 42, and Lange, 59, who have a 6-year-old son, Eja, announced their separation May 15. Since then, the "You're Still the One" singer – "devastated" by the revelations, according to sources – has sought refuge with family in her native Canada.
Thiébaud began working for the ultra-private couple after they moved to Switzerland in 2000, acting as their personal assistant, secretary and manager of their vast château. By all accounts, she became one of Shania's closest confidants. The two attended the 2006 Swiss Red Cross Ball together (PEOPLE's exclusive first photos of Thiébaud showed the pair at the event, posing together and smiling.
"They celebrated holidays and birthdays together," says a source. "They were very good friends." Mutt has also denied that he is dating Thiébaud, telling PEOPLE the split was "just a growing apart."

Okay, what could Mutt want with this woman. She is not even close to being in Shania's league. I know that is not a totally nice thing to say, but sorry I don't get it.
