Advance ticket sales for Katie Holmes' Broadway debut in All My Sons are far below those for Nicole Kidman's 1998 run in The Blue Room, the New York Post reports. Less than $1 million in tickets for All My Sons — which begins previews in September – have been sold compared to $4 million for Nicole's Broadway stint, according to the paper.
"I've bought 1,000 tickets to the show," a broker told the Post. "I still have them." A show rep tells Usmagazine.com: “We don’t discuss advance sales.” Furthermore, tickets to see Nicole — who briefly appeared nude in the show — went as high as $700 while premium tickets for Katie’s show are netting $300. "I think if she takes off her clothes, she may catch up!" a Broadway insider joked to the Post.
The paper blames lackluster sales on Tom's declining popularity since the 1990s. Nicole’s debut on Broadway coincided with the release of their controversial flick Eyes Wide Shut and he was touted on magazine covers as the biggest movie star in the world. "People aren't shelling out $110 for a play anymore," a broker told the Post. "It doesn't matter who's in it."

Many wondered what name Katie Holmes would use. Would the marquee read Katie Holmes or Kate Cruise. Although husband Tom Cruise insists on calling her by the more mature "Kate," Katie has opted to stick with her girly nickname professionally — and she'll continue to do so on Broadway as well.
“A lot of discussion went on around her name and billing [for Arthur Miller's All My Sons],” a Broadway insider tells OK!. “Eventually, it was Katie herself who insisted that she wanted to remain Katie Holmes on Broadway." The 29-year-old also made a point of not receiving first billing on the play's poster. "In fact, her name appears last," the insider says. Forget movie-set trailers or glamorous dressing rooms — Katie has a small room with a sink, mirror and shared bathroom. Katie is set to make her stage debut this fall.
